Cutting Hair

Aunt Laura is finishing up her certificate in cosmetology.   We took advantage of her skills and snuck a couple of hair cuts in through out the fun filled weekend.
Addie just got a little trim to even up her hair and make it a little healthier.
 Ben got a trim.
I got a fun new summer look.
Garrett, my baby, got his first hair cut.
 Just look at those curls.
I love these curls, I was not quite ready to get them all cut off, but I was out numbered.
Garrett did so well getting his hair cut, it seemed like he enjoyed having someone play with his hair.
Our sweet boy did so well and now he looks so grown up.
Jon did get a hair cut too, 5 hairs cuts in 2 days, Aunt Laura was a busy girl!
Still a lot more pictures to come!

Happy Birthday Weekend

This weekend we went to San Antonio for Addie's birthday weekend extravaganza.  Nannie, GeeGee, and Aunt Laura flew to Texas to help us celebrate.  We checked in to the hotel and went to the pool.  When the rest of the family got in we headed down to the Riverwalk for a late dinner.
 Addie was SOOOO excited.
 Nannie was thirsty.
Garrett helped Nannie eat her fish and chips.  He was a particular fan of the tartar sauce.
 Everyone snuggled up for bed.
 Addie and GeeGee.
I never used to understand why my mom took pictures of us while we were sleeping, but I get it now.  They look so peaceful when they sleep.
The whole reason we were here, our big girl is 5 and ready to go to Sea World!
A lot more pictures to come.

Happy Man

This sweet boy had ear tubes put in this morning.   He was SO sweet through the whole thing.  He fell asleep on my lap in pre op, he went with the nurse with out a fuss, and when he woke up he didn't cry once.

He is loving drinking all kinds of apple juice and talking up a storm.
He has been a happy man all morning as long as he has his Monkey Man.  For some reason that is the toy he can't live without.  I am so proud of our little trooper and hope he starts to feel better.
These pictures are from last week, but this is now a regular occurence.  The kids love to take a bath in our room and turn on the jets, making the bubles do this.

Texas Fun

Today we had an appointment scheduled for our professional blue bonnet pictures.  I have been so excited about this day, it is something I have wanted to do since we moved to Texas.  We got up early, put the kids in the car in their pjs and got on our way.  Everyone wore white for the photos, that is why the kids rode up in their pjs, none of us do very well in white.  We stopped to get donuts, a fan favorite around here.  Garrett was pretty excited.  He usually only gets a plain glazed, but I made a mistake and got him a chocolate sprinkle donut.
He thought Daddy was pretty funny when we stopped to get gas.  We had a great time taking our pictures, but I won't be able to share them for a couple of weeks while the photographer edits them.
I didn't realize it until this morning, but we had to drive right through the Blue Bonnet Festival to get to our photo shoot site.  After the pictures were done we headed back to Chappell Hill, Texas to check things out. This little house was on our walk into the city.  It is just the kind of house Jon and I would love to live in.  The whole town was just adorable.  They have houses that date back all the way to 1821.
This is how we roll, our clever little girl has figured out a way to ride.
We got a lot of looks today and the usual comments of "Wow, you've got your hands full".  We were very obviously dressed for our pictures and even had a few people ask us if we had found a good spot.  Unfortunately I can't share the location our photographer used because it is private property.  The blue bonnets came in early this year so people were fighting over the few fields that are left.

Such a Big Girl

I can't believe the month is here that will turn my little girl into a 5 year old.  Addie has been so excited for this birthday since she turned 4 last year.  In preparation for turning 5 Addie has decided to learn how to tie her shoes.  She got the idea from Caillou, a show on PBS kids.  She has been wearing sneakers all week so that she can practice.
This morning before we left the house she had successfully tied both of her shoes.  It still takes her a little while, but I am so proud of her.  I can't believe how quickly she is growing up,  and I am really looking forward to all of the fun we are going to have this year.
Our other exciting event today happened at the doctor's office.  We have been there a lot in the last 2 months thanks to Garrett's constant ear infection.  Today was special though because there was a lizard hanging out just on the other side of the window.
All 3 kiddos were fascinated by the little guy and I was just thankful that he occupied them for almost 15 minutes while we waited for the doctor.
 There is our little buddy.
I know it is gross that they are laying on the floor, but this is not the first time they have done it.  We were at the doctor's office, during nap time, for almost 90 minutes, I was willing to take any distraction that didn't involve screaming today.

Parent Child Dedication

Last night we had a special time at church during the Parent Child Dedication ceremony.
I had my usual success getting pictures.
We finally got one with all 5 of us!  The baby dedication was a very special time for us, even if Ben did try and steal the spot light.
Here are Addie and Ben all ready for their school Easter parties.
